Artists: Yael Bartana, Pauline Boudry / Renate Lorenz, Sergey Bratkov, Chto Delat, Johanna Diehl, Jonas Englert, Jochen Gerz, Manaf Halbouni, Robert Kunec, Anna Malagrida, Cemile Sahin, Nasan Tur, Silke Wagner, Tobias Zielony

CE QUI DEMEURE, Solo Exhibition

Centre Photographique de Hautes France
04 Mars -11 juin 2023
COMMISSAIRE : AUDREY HOREAU

Solo Exhibition at the Galerie RX, Paris, 27/11/2021-16/01/2022.

For her fifth solo show at the RX gallery, Anna Malagrida confronts two photographic series made in the city of Paris and an installation that testify to moments of crisis. Ten years separate the two series she chose to bring together: Vitrines (Escaparates) evokes the global economic crisis of 2008 and shows for the first time new images for this exhibition, Paris barricaded refers to the social and political crisis of the Yellow Vests demonstrations in 2018. The city appears as a physical space, like a body marked by traces of History that materialize in the window space. A true interface between the exterior and the interior, the transparency of the showcase disappears in favor of the physical materiality of the painting or the wooden boards that cover it and evoke the social history of which they are the support of inscription. In addition to the photographs, the artist presents a sculpture-installation created from the wooden panels that protected the shop windows around the Champs-Elysées in 2018.
