Barrio Chino, la Ville Aveugle – 2003

photo installation of 14 photos arranged as an urban fresco. 1,46 x 14 m. Joint project with Mathieu Pernot

This project is the first collaboration between Mathieu Pernot and Anna Malagrida. The photographs were taken in the district of Raval, Barcelona – better known by the name of « Barrio Chino » (Chinatown). Since 1998, the area has undergone a profound transformation. The installation appears as an urban fresco, a fragment of a city pieced together from images of buildings in the process of demolition.
